Facebook has revealed that around 8 percent profiles are fake .
According to the latest figures , nearly 83 million user profiles on Facebook are dubious , it includes displicate accounts , pages for pets and those designed to send spam . There are 4.8 percent duplicate accounts , 2.4 percent belong to non human entity like pets or for business and 1.5 percent are accounts used for sending spam .
"We believe the percentage of accounts that are duplicate or false is meaningfully lower in developed markets such as the United States or Australia and higher in developing markets such as Indonesia and Turkey," Facebook said.
The stocks of Facebook have also been falling recently and yesterday its share price has fallen below $20 for the first time . Its now worth almost half of what it was when it floated in Nasdaq .Facebook lost nearly $50 billion in value .
