Graphic Cards 8600GT oc help

hi guys,
i recently bought a Point Of View 8600GT ddr2 512 mb. i thought it would be a gud card wich can oc well, but i must say i m disappointed.default clocks are:

core:540
shader:1088
memory:800

my prob is that i cannot oc it much. i am only able it 2 oc it by 10% and dats it!!!. i am currently playin WIC and get a 5 fps increase.

shud i get it changed or wat??

Q6600 at 3.0GHz
Point Of View 8600GT DDR2
Transcend 2GB DDR2 @ 800MHz
WD 320 GB SATA II
550 W PSU

load = 57

psu is cooler master extreme power 550 W

Dat's why u are not able to overclock much.

But don't go for a change coz even if they lag behind GDDR3 versions, the difference does not justify going for a new card(unless it's for FREE ).

wat r ur 3d mark scores abhi??

3dmark 05=8001

^^ 3dmark scores wont say much coz its also dependant on cpu and u have a quad@3ghz

i get 5800 points...of which 2500 is cpu score

subtracting the 2 results in 3300 for the gpu (mine is 8600gt ddr3 version)

check your gpu scores only and not the total

Hey buddy,

I don't remember exactly but on stock, the card scored somewhere around 4600+ in 3DMark2006 and after overclocking, i think it went up to 5500+.

Ur scores are not possible for a 8600Gt unless carried out on a low resolution.hyeah:

cpu = 3508(stock), 4567(oc)

sm 2.0=1980(stock)

sm 3.0=1758(stock)

aren't de sm scores a bit 2 low.

guys 1 more thing, in world in conflict on maxed out settings (16aa, 16af, etc) in xp pro, i get 16fps in de benchmark inside de game. no increase after de cpu oc. 16 fps at 2.4GHz, 16 fps at 3.0GHz, and gpu oc gives me 17 fps.

solved a bit of de prob.

i was using 169.21:no: (latest drivers) abd when i reverted to de one (162.18hyeah: ) provided in de cd bundled i am now able 2 oc it to:

core:600
memory:1000

and yes de fps increased frm 17 to 21:hap2:
