Graphic Cards 8600Gt SLI....Worth it ?

I currently have a xfx 8600gt ddr3 oc'ed to 750/900 cooled by a zalman vf-700cu. Was thinking of getting another 8600gt for cheap (abt 3k) and go SLI . I primarily want stalker: clear sky and a couple of other pc exclusives too run flawlessly on 1280 x 1024....So is it worth it..? as i already have the required hardware to go SLI except the card ....and i'm not willing to upgrade to a 4850/9600gso etc all as i'll be going abroad for studies soon...

8600GT sli is waste .. better sell the current 8600GT for around 3k , add 3k more and get new 9600GT . its available from amarbir for less than 6k , will perform around 50% faster than 8600GT sli :p

Hmm...Thought so. Will Stalker :clear sky be able to run even at medium on a single gt at the resolution i've mentioned...? If it can then i can make do and upgrade later.

Why not get stop gap 8800GTS 320MB ?? 9600GT is similar to GTS 640MB in performance. GTS 320MB seller cant demand more than 4.5k now coz new 9600GT costs 5.8k

UR current 8600GT will sell for 3k prolly with that cooler, it will be 1.5k investment, and GTS will give decent performance @ 1280 resolution.

Yea that is true the 320mb 8800gtx performs very similar to the 640mb gts, and well at 4.5k it would be great deal!

i think SLI is waste of money. after having an 8800gtx sli in my system i am still unable to run crysis at high resolution

^It's the beauty of Crysis that even if your run Crysis on Quad Sli it will run you nuts :D.

Compare other games on GTX SLi

^ A 4850/4870 with local warranty is your best bet. Btw If you're interested in selling your gts 320 , Please PM me what you're expecting for it.
