Hi.

After hearing a lot about this on internet and after personal testing over last 2 weeks, I have some results for you.

8800GT is having some issues with certain motherboards. It simply does not work or gives issue on some boards.

I am posting the results of motherboard I have tested so far.

If you are owner of 8800GT please post here with the motherboard you have and if 8800GT worked or not.

Abit IP 35 Pro - OK

P5WDH Deluxe - Works in 1st PCI express slot. Does not work in 2nd PCI express slot

XFX 680i LT - OK

A8N-E - NO GO

P5N32-E SLI - OK

JETWAY 690G - OK

ASROCK 939 DUAL CSTA - OK

GIGABYTE 965P DS3 - OK

ASROCK 775DUAL VSTA - NO GO

ASUS P5B VANILLA - OK.

This is what i can confirm personally.

I will be testing this on P5W64 S and P5N-E SLI today. Will post back today evening.
 
and I hope Funky these are your own test results and not some other forum results which will start another round of rumour for these 8800GTs
 
Nope these are personally tested. There are plenty of rumors going on. So I have personally tested these. I own 4 boards personally. Rest are either systems of friends or provided to me for testing.

Basically it wont work on PCI express 1.0 board. On some boards a flash with modified VGA bios works. but on some old boards it will simply not work.

The evga 8800GT simply does not boot into windows with A8N-E. Instant BSOD.
 
I think the VGA bios has a lot to do with the compatibility .. so its not only the mobo , but also the card itself ...

BTW .. XFX 8800GT works fine with P5B Deluxe WiFi-AP ..

and , the same works fine on XFX 650i mobo ...
 
sell ur 8800GT for half the price to me Phoenix, always ready to help a friend in need. Will go SLI, :ohyeah: :rofl:
 
Nah I cant test on every board out there. If I get the board for testing from somewhere i will test more boards. But as of now I have posted what I have tested.
 
it works on p5n-e sli. it was working yesterday on it. b4 the card got spoilt. i will try to replacement n check when i get again.

my friend is using galaxy on nforce4 dfi ultra-d.
 
well thats kidna sad to hear that 8800GT is not (mate-ing):rofl: with some boards anyways i was wondering is it certain make of 8800 or all of them give the same problem also can some one please check on a Biostar TP35D2-A7 << my mobo was planning to shift to 8800 later on in another 8 months.

I'm buying the XFX 8800GT for Asrock 939Dual-SATA2 (PCI express 1.0) board (Model not listed above).

On this thread NCIX FORUMS - PCIe 1.0a - Asrock 939dual-sata2 - EVGA E-GEFORCE 8800GT Superclocked 650MH... Tim_k contacted Asrock to confirm 8800GT compatibility with Asrock PCI-e 1.0a interface and it works !!!

Are u sure that 8800GT won't work on pci-e 1.0a boards ?? :S
 
anybody body having problems running this card with xfx 650iultra mobo cuz iam going to get xfx 8800gtxxx edition on 12 that too the card is from usa
so wat shud i look out for please help
