My comp config is
AMD p2 x4 960t
asus m5a88 m (bios version 0601)
4 gb corsair vengeance 4 gb ram
antec vp450p power supply
I need help in unlocking the 2 cores in my proccy.
I initially tried the core unlocker switch on the mobo, but when the switch is on and i press the power button, my comp turns on but nothing comes on the screen at all, only the fans run and the power led glows. (i left it for 5 min to see if it would reboot and give some error message atleast but nothing)
2nd i tried manually(after switching off the core unlocker switch). Went into bios, enabled core unlocking. and manually activated all cores. When i clicked save and exit i got same problem as above. So i pulled out the power cable from psu for a minute and then put it back and tried switching it on, in POST i got a message "the current CPU cant use ASUS core unlocker".
Third i went to bios again, disabled all cores(2,3,4,5,6) except first, and clicked save n exit. Again it wouldn't boot, had to pull out power cables, reconnect after 1 minute, and when i tried booting again i got the message "the current CPU cant use ASUS core unlocker".
So what am i doing wrong here ? it should have atleast booted with 5 cores disabled and only 1st one enabled right ?
Also i'm a noob at unlocking, my first AMD processor even,
so pls help in the unlocking process, if there is any other option i am missing out on ? or can i try increasing the voltage while unlocking ? (my current cpu voltage in cpu z is 1.2v with some asus epu power saving software)
