Laptops a config for around 40k ?

hi guys.....

A friend who is a pro photographer needs a laptop for around 40k (+- 3k)..

Mainly uses photoshop CS3, lightroom etc .. so planning for a 2 gigs of RAM. graphics card. c2d.

Also want to use it for learning 3Dmax etc.......

Will buy in INDIA itself...
 
Getting a laptop with your specs in India at that price is well close to impossible. Best bet would be to go with Vostro 1000 with AMD Turion configures with 1 GB of RAM and add 1 GB of aftermarket RAM. Also, in photoshop and other graphics program, it is not really essential to have a dedicated GFX card. The difference in performance is there only in games. Photoshop etc are CPU intensive, not gfx card intensive programs.
 
sure a better proccy would probably reduce the rendering times (cos processor intensive) but u wont b able to get everything in ur budget so u have to compromise somewhere or increase ur budget :P
