Graphic Cards A couple of questions about 7600GT?

Hi!

I have a Viewsonic 1930 which, as you know, does 1440x900.

What I want to know is that,if i get a 7600GT, will i be able to play todays games at that resolution @ high details?

Also,what are the current prices of the various makes of 7600gt like Palit,Sparkle,XFX etc.?

EDIT: According to this page, the 8500 is available for 6200 and the 7600Gt for 7.2k.Which one should I go for?
 
7600gt is a much better option

and you can play all but the latest games at that resokution if you keep the heavy options like aa/af/bloom off
 
I've been using that setup for a while and as nuke said you can play the current games if you turn down the details. If you can spend a bit more, consider the x1950 GT/Pro, though.
As far as prices go, I think the Sparkle is a good brand and Sparkle 7600GT can be had for <7k.
 
Another vote for the X1950, it'll handle everything with ease.

8500GT is bloated. Get a 8600GT if you must want DX10 ;)
 
I've got a ViewSonic VA1912W which also does 1440x900, and I'm running it just fine here with a 6800GT card. Of course 7600 will do. You may need to turn down the details in a few games, or maybe keep the AF less than 16x and AA less than 4x (again, in very few games), but games would work pretty well.

I haven't had a game so far that completely destroys my 6800GT...not even NWN2. Stalker might have been that game but with the user created shader mods, maybe not anymore :P
 
Get yourself a 8600 GT will set you back by 10 k max.. Atleast it wil give a DX 10 future safe [ not be performance] and you can Oc it well... :)
 
Better increase the budget and go in for the 8600GT, 7900GS or the X1950 pro ... 7600GT already struggles with some new games
