Hi

my friend is looking for a good refrigerator that can also work on low voltages. the area where he lives has constant fluctuations and now days also go down below 120 v. he has installed a manual 5KVA stabilizer on the mains in order to counter this problem and uses electronic stabilizers on all electronic equipments.

Can anybody suggest a refrigerator (350 ltrs max) that can also handle and be operational on such low voltages.

Most of the Refrigerators are more or less same when it comes to performance except a hand-full few... so you can go with the lowest energy consumption models...

What kind of fridge are you looking for.... Some fridge's do have a built in voltage stabiliser these days like Samsung...

For energy efficiency try these documents from BEE.....

^^ Not in BEE list.

Not every model is in the BEE list yet... But they are suppose to make it mandatory for every model in the market to have an energy star label by June 2007 (As per BEE)...

But you know how these govt. agencies work... It will not finish by June 2007 & might take more time to provide ratings for all appliances....

Married ppl are even more clueless, they dont have time (marital duties and such) to research but money to buy any crap.
