Less than 10K A good reliable phone under 9k (10k max)

A: 9k, can increase to 10k only if there isn't anything worth considering under 9k
2. Preferred Form Factor(flip, bar, slider)?
A: bar
3. Preferred display type?
A: size: 4" or more. WVGA or more
4. Do you have any brand preference or dislike? Please name them.
A: BIG NO to chinese rebranded phones and other phones with non existant A.S.S. (xiaomi, huawei etc)
5. Preferred input method (Touchscreen, QWERTY, etc.)?
A: Touchscreen
6. Camera required or not? If required, please specify type like front camera/flash/etc.
A: Good quality 5mp or more camera, front cam isn't required
7. Preferred operating system? (Android, Symbian, iOS, Windows Phone etc).
A: android ONLY
8. Preferred connectivity options? (3G, Wifi, Edge etc).
A: 3G, wifi
9. What is your intended use for this phone(internet, camera, multimedia, mails, etc)?
A: Whatsapp, casual gaming (point and click, NFS MW etc.), casual photography (indoors and outdoors)
10. Any other requirements?
A: Reliability is primary requirement, he will use this phone for atleast 3 years. He's fed up with his hytech/intex (can't recall) phone, a new issue pops up every now and then in his phone.

Good A.S.S. (no chinese phones)
Good RAM and internal memory (his current phone keeps crashing apps due to 256MB RAM and runs out of space even after uninstalling most of the apps)

Moto g 1st gen is no longer available. Moto e lacks auto focus but still considering it.
What about long term reliability of asus? And after sales service?

Asus ASS is hit n miss affair.
In my city (Kolkata), ASS is not that good. A friend had bought the Nexus 7(2012) and had to go to service centre as his set had a problem. He had to visit there 2 times. The 2nd time around, he created a scene and only then they took his set.

Tagging @raksrules here. He had to go to Asus service centre recently to get his Nexus 7 checked.
