A labrador on run, should i take him ??

Yesterday night, i came across a lab in ground in front of my house, when i had taken my sonu for a walk.

He seems to be confused, and running here and there, i thought his owner might be playing with him.

But today morning again, i saw him in the same place, and some local street dogs were creating nuisance for him :

I am planning to go out with my vet in few hours, and take the dog under my responsibility,

i am worried that, will the dog owner in future may create ruckus that i had stolen his dog ??

Take the dog and administer the first aid and get basic checks done from the Vet. There is a good chance the dog has some issue and owner doesn't want to own it up now and hence he left the dog stranded or something like that.
You can then put an ad on olx and such asking if someone has lost a dog, I know you probably won't receive any response but no harm in trying.
Give the dog for adoption if no one responds.
