Just something that I experienced:
I had upgraded my MBP from the original 5400rpm drive to a 7200rpm drive and then to a SSD drive. The first one conked out in 2 months which I RMA'ed. The second one died yesterday. I don't think the heat dissipation in the MBP is suitable for the SSD's. So, I stepped back and installed a 320GB 7200rpm drive again.
So, if you do plan to upgrade to a SSD for that extra performance, be advised!
p.s: The SSD's were from OCZ
