A-mex Or Ay-mex

So today I had a very heated argument with some people over how is american express abbreviation pronounced.

So is it A-MEX, with a single A

or

AY-MEX

I think its A-MEX cuz the other one just sound silly..

Isn't is the same? A-MEX is still pronounced as ay-mex. Unless you meant ah-mex which sounds like someone is getting the call of nature.

lotta ppl call it the latter and the justification is that its AMerican not American EXpress.

But i've heard american express employees call it a-mex

Well TBH i dont honour the card at my store as the service charged levied is quite high. So it doesnt really matter weather the customer Amex or Aymex.

^^ Lol its almost the same everywhere, my friend keeps "flaunting" his Amex platinum card. But its hardly accepted everywhere, most of the cinema's in Mumbai dont accept it, a lot of malls dont accept it...

Flaunt value. Trust me dood i have a Amex along with almost 10 other CC's but i just carry one HDFC CC and One Debit card in my pocket. In NCR or for that matter every other metro city i believe every third person carries a Amex CC.

And trust me on this most business man prefer to pay in Hard Cash rather then in CC.
