A friend of mine wants to a PC for his hostel (PC might come under heavy use some mild gaming and Engineering softwares)....

His budget is Rs.25000 - Rs.27000 MAX >><<..

It Should include All basic things....

CPU (AMD-???)

MOBO (????)

RAM (1gb Transcend 800 MHz)

Optical Drive DVD writer (Liteon SATA/ SONY SATA OEM/LG h42n)

HDD (320gb)

Keyboard(samsung pleomax)

Mouse(logitech)

CRT Monitor(needs to be tough {LCD is out of question})

UPS(?????)

Cabinet (ZEB Lava)

Decent SMPS ( Powersafe 400 watt gold was what I thought)

Headphone (Zeb 2600 Hmv)

Speaker System 2.1 (creative 2.1)

1gb Pen Drive(??)

Discreet GPU if it can be included..needed for BASIC DX10 Support

Feel free to make desirable changes but in the limit as he's on tight budget...

And I know TE people suggest the best configurations that can be made..

We'll be goin to Lammy tomorrow so will ask PnP, Prime, Cassette World.

hmmm

get intel e6550 for 6k

xfx 650 ultra

xfx 8600 GT 256 mn drr3 6.5k

get 2 gb drr2 667 mhs for 2.2 k ;)

keyboard ans mouse logiet 600k

any cabinet with 400 smps for 1k

get any 2.1 channel speaker intex or any brand for 600 r.s

17 crt samsusng for 4k

and pen driver 1 gb any brand for 250-300k

caluate 26200k ;)

hey btw u can oc higher oc intel is best and good speed

u can oc 3 ghs ;) with stock fan

CPU Charts | Tom's Hardware

or try e6750 for 7.8k

the above config looks pretty tempting but

1. Missing a decent SMPS looks like would need a 500w POWERSAFE silver to remain safe..

2. UPS is very Important, Hostel is in pen, LOT of load shedding.

3. 2.1 should be of a bit better quality(listens to music a lot) and where all can the price be reduced like the graphics card.. Ram..

Wowwww....thats a hell of a costly gizmo !
1.As for the monitor I suggest Samsung Syncmaster 704MSPLUS 17"True Flat
2.Get Altec Lansing ATP3 2.1
3.@ 25K U better stick to e4400 + Asus 650 ultra combo or AMD X2 4400+ and M2N SE Ultra Combo
4.The above rig will run fine on any standerd 400 Watts PSU such as zebronics or I-box and I dont see any need to invest in a costly PSU unless you want to plug in something like 8800gts or 2900xt HD in this rig

5.SATA DVD RWs are by no mean faster then their IDE counterpart. So you can and should get an IDE drive and save around 300-400 Rs coz you already with a shoestring budget !

the budget is 25K-26K

Please Include a decent UPS ....

more suggestions are welcomed...

M2N-E is this the version with heat pipe , will it fit under my budget???

What is the price of ASUS 650 Ultra???

Hows Biostar P35, I asked a shop and they quoted a price of 4700-/-

the board needed should be stable and no overclocking would be done....

so want the Best performance at stock,

hows coolermaster AMMO, I heard its available at prime for 4500 is it worth that price...

(looks pretty good for lanparties)

above will run at 400 watt lol lol :bleh:

8800 gts required good power 600 watt with pin connect :P

so u need more 12v rail and 18 ampb vol ;)

if u want u stick am2 get amd 5200 for 5.6k or 4000+ for 2.9k

evern ma friend use with 500 different smps zebroy :S

still noise is shrill and high

amd 4000+ or 4800+ for 2.9-4k

yes get asus M2N-E IT SUPPORT GOOD OVERCLOKING and nice heat piper cooler will reduce 30-35

but u need dual channel ram :(

soem ram will not work this mo

u need Kingston or cossiar

transcend will not work on dual channel at ma mo :(

ma ram is is single channel give lately time 5t :S

if u want 8800 gts 320 and coolmaster 600 watt cost 14 add 3k ;)

Why do u post something before understanding what the previous post has to say??????!!!!!:bleh:

I know what 8800 requires and thats why I said that unless he wants to plug in something like that there is no need to invest in a costly psu as the above rig will certainly run fine on a 400 watts psu...even a 350 watts will do to some extent as he wont be doing any overclocking and if he chooses to bundle low end DX10 crads like 8400 or goes with onboard solution. This rig is quite moderate in deed !!! But if you can accomodate a good PSU within your budget then there is nothing better than that !!! Thats all

Asus 650 mobo is something close to 5.5k apprx. Dont go for the XFX 650 Mobo..the newer boards have a crappy firmware.

Any p35 mobo should be good considering that it will be future proof to some extent ! But before going for that do a bit of research on the net.

And since the author of this thread has no intention of overclocking AMD is a very good choice considering the budget. There isnt much difference in the stock performance between C2D and AM2 (infact AM2 gives better performance in some cases in the same price point. As for example e4400 gives the performance of a AM2 4800+ at stock but at the price of e4400 you can get yourself a AM2 5200+)

Powersafe silver 500 watts will be a very good choice provided it comes within your budget.

GO ONLY WITH BRANDED PSU if you need 400W (vip/powersafe @1.3-1.5), cause all generic 400w even (some time) didn't provide 240w
