Mark Wahlberg as Max Payne



The movie adaptation of the cult-status game Max Payne is currently in the works, and the first photos from the shoots are already on the internet.

Mark Wahlberg will star as Max Payne, and although he might not look like Max Payne from the game, he definitely is a great actor. The director is John Moore, famous for his work on “Behind Enemy Lines”.



We also heard that the movie will to be made so that it gets a PG-13 rating, meaning that anyone of age 13 and higher will be able to watch it. Still, knowing the game’s brutal nature this will be a hard task, and we sincerely hope that such attempts don’t ruin the movie.

The movie will launch on 17th October 2008.

That's cool... He has already some experience sniping in Shooter, now waiting to see the constipated "Payne" look on his face in the movie :rofl:

wow, finally. Mark Wahlberg is a great actor. Remember the size of his "weapon" in Boogey Nights, anyone :P

On a serious note though, he's going to do a good job, I'm sure.
 
^^... this PG-13 crap (wider audience, more money.. so what if the movie was screwed) attitude is filling my head with doubts already on this movie. I like Mark Wahlberg and I like Max Payne... and I would be really pissed if this movie doesn't turn out good. Well... at least it's not being directed by Uwe Boll.. so there is still hope.
 
I wish it would have been more like HITMAN where the actor had some sort of resemblance to the game character atleast

But none the less i think he'll do justice to the role .

This image looks real cool IMHO :D I think Mark will be good in the role of Max Payne
 
pg13 are you f**kin kidding me... what part of max payne's shoot-people-every-30-seconds gameplay was pg13... i predict another game movie with a 2/5 rating at best. gg.

totally agreed...i was expecting mark wahlberg shouting profanities as he did in departed.... wielding dual berettas and john wooish slow mo...and then a head shot in slow mooo with all splatter and gibs flying about scene...

show me one disney movie which pulled of a scene of that effect and i would even bother looking forward to this movie....
 
MARTIN SCORSESE should direct this movie max payne has the kind of story which mirrors the plot of the departed in many ways . even john woo has loads of experience in directing movies like hard boiled and a better tommorow which resmbles maxpayne in many ways

if he directs the movie it would sure rock on the brighter side UWE BOWL isnt directing the movie.i just hope mark's acting ability isnt wasted in this film
