Post installation of SP2 in Vista, my HDD freed up a whopping 60 GB free:) Anyone else experienced such huge HDD space getting free post installation?

lol.. thats not possible, sp2 setup may have deleted all ur junk temp files and older SP1 install data, but 60GB :O

most probably some of his drives were checked for errors during installation n 1st boot...n error correction woul result in correct drive space(free space)

No disk space credit here :P
But one thing i found out is that my Oc'd frequency doesn't get updated in the "system" window after updating to Sp2. Still shows stock speed.

This has been reported in many tech websites. BTW, is Vista FEELING any faster now? And has DX11 support been included, or it will be in the future with an update or another SP!

No it is still directx10 and vista does slightly faster. Maybe it is the result of freed up HDD space :)

there must be some error.100%.

or maybe after installing sp2 60gb of ur valuable data wass wipe right off ur disk.

:) All my data is in external HDD's. So no probs there. I don't know why everyone finds it unbelievable. Well, even I thought there was an error, but after checking the interwebz, knew that I wasn't the only lucky one.

It cleans up the OS, deletes older restore points, and does some undetailed stuff that can result in anything from 10+gb free space. Almost everyone has had this effect, tho some may not have noticed it so much.

Read a pcworld blog to get some more understanding of this. Linked above too.
