A Question about expiry of accounts if not used

So if I dont use an account at a private tracker site to dl/ul...because I dont want anything at the moment...just have the account in case I need it...

What happens then..I mean if I just login to the site for a few minutes on a weekly basis (once or twice in a week)...do they still ban me...or do I not get banned...especially sites with no "account parking" facilities...

^^ It depends on the torrent site which you are member of .
I have been a member of desitorrents from a long time like 1.5 years.In between I was not there for like six months .Yet I did not get banned .I had a good ratio thats why may be .:S

Yet sites like TL clean up their site regularly.You cant take the risk with sites like those .

Look for what the FAQ of the site has to say abt being inactive or ask in the help section of site forum .
 
only visiting the site is enough. usually sites disable your account if you dont visit the site for about 40 days. So you dont need to use your account to download, just visit the site before that 40 days or so.
 
some site provide Account parked system .

Like bitme.org , bitspder.net

You can park your account to prevent it from being deleted because of inactivity if you go away on for example a vacation. When the account has been parked. Limits are put on the account, for example you cannot use the tracker and browse some of the pages.
 
Hmm, FAQ's dont have anything written on that matter, all I can find in something like these :

Your account will be deleted after 40 days of inactivity

and sometimes

After you have downloaded so and so GB of data, if your ratio falls below 0.4 (Say) then you'll get a warning and then the account will be deleted after a week if ratio doesnt increase.

Now the questions are :

1. What does account being inactive mean anyways..

2. Do we get a warning if we dont ul/dl for a long time and only login...

Yeah, but apart from parked accounts, sites which dont give this facitlity, what about them...

Besides its not like I am not opening the sites...will login them...

Anyone has had a bad experience with such a technique? Dont wanna be the first one...lol..
 
nothin much happens.. just log in once in a while or if you can, keep a torrent from that site running.. no issues then :)
 
Yeah, but what if I dont have my own PC to run a torrent...

Guess m gonna go with the old and trusted hit and trial method :D
 
Lol talkin about wen u come down here? Log in once in a while should be fine man. Dont worry. you can also get an invite some other time ;)
 
Not if its my sweet sweet bitmetv...cant afford to lose it...lol..bitmetv has given me an addiction with TV Seasons...

Also yeah in part about when I get there...but also a few low level sites...I just have accounts there, dont bother a lot with dl'in stuff of off them...but would still like to have em in case a high level one screws up on me...goes down et al
 
Loll for tv shows theres tvtorrents too.. i can always give u an invite if you want ;) There's nothin given on their faqs?
