Well High Res starts at 1280*1024 or the Wide screen version of the same, atleast in my book. Yes its a subjective affair, people who play at 25*16 need SLI'd 8800 GTX for the high end games.

As for crysis, well don't turn this into another of those abundant "Will my rig play crysis" threads :bleh:

Regarding crysis, well the little information that they have released, it seems that the 8800GTS will be able to handle the game at moderate detail levels at 1024*768 or 1280*1024. Again, its no use predicting whether game X will play on the system or not till the game gets released, especially considering that it'll be one of the few fully capable DX10 games by then. All one can do is keep their fingers crossed and hope for the best.

yep......since no official requirements have been released, we cant speculate........Even the official boards have stopped doing it.....maybe the 88GTS mite run it on ultimate settings on those res's...or maybe at med or even low (God Forbid)......no use.....if ANYBODY here is gonna just buy a card for crysis or pro street or sumthin like that , then IMHO they r dumb.....wait a while for at least the reqs to be out.......if u wanna play current games at those res's , the 8600gt is enuff , they are for me....

Exactly ... from what I've leart so far the best time to upgrade for a cutting edge game is a few months after it's release and not before :P

@Deepak : nice guide again ! :D

You couldn't be more right, the next gen cards (the cards that come out after the game has been released), even the mid end ones will usually perform great on that game, as by that time the h/w and s/w teams have had a chance to optimize the cards for such types of games (in this case DX10, and the Crytek engine)

Plus as a general rule, what is todays high end is going to be next years (when the next gen cards arrive) mid end....

@thex, thanks for boosting my ego :bleh:

yep...but DONT LET IT STOP YOU GUYS OUT THERE.......for theres one thing all of us learn at one time or another , IT"S ALWAYS A WAITING GAME, IF YOU WAIT TODAY< YOU LOSE OUT ON THOSE FEW DAYS OF FUN U CAN HAVE >>>

agreed with pheonix.............c'mon guys.......u cant wait forever.......u can buy the 8800GTX after 5 years when it may be available for 2000 RS.........it doesnt make sense does it??:hap5: :hap5:
