I need suggestion to buy a 2.1 Speaker system, must not be more than Rs.1,500.

I know there were many threads on speakers but they don't fit my requirement.
:hap2: :hap2:

Heard that AltecLansing APT3 & its successor are good 2.1speakers but its out of my budget. I am looking from Creative SBS370 or InspireM2600, or from others with some quality sound & I like the Bass so it must have a good subwoofer.

If cheap 5.1 is a better option than this thats ok for me, I am using Rs.400, 800Watt Frontech 2.1 speakers which were serving me since 4years.

Now those speakers sound very boring, I need the Extra Thump for the Money.

I listen to lots of Variety of Music all day & some movies.

Lo'l.. Yeah, nothing for u in tat range..

And were u expecting an ATP3'ish sound fer half the price twas retailing for?? :P

Get a Logitech R20 for 1200 bucks...

How about Artis S500 or S-111R (with Integrated FM player) :-)

Creative SBS 370 for Rs.1350 meets my Budget requirement. Looking for any other Intex like stuff i they can offer better VFM.

By the way my Mobo supports 8Channel Surround sound output.

forget the SBS. try listening to the cheap indian/chinese ones .There might be a diamond in the rough. And do remember to turn up the volume - higher volumes will highlight any shortcomings in a speaker- dont mind if the shopkeepers object- you dont buy graphics cards based on how good they look with windows right :P .

Alternately, 1.5k will buy you a good pair of headphones :)

another advice to those who want to buy speakers - dont go by spec, they are for the most part unverifiable. Trust your ears :)

^yeah very true:
alphaballa and greenhorn come to my place some day i'll give you a demo of
Frontech 4.1 Sub Woofer Speaker System JIL-1867 (2280 W) :)

I thought mentioning the specs would provide some details rather than merely suggesting names.

And in 1500/- you can't even think of quality like of MX5021

For 1700/- Frontech JIL-1867 is very good value for money.
But all these Frontech, Intex, Techcom etc are all made in China products & branded in India, all these models will be available with other companies as well with different Brand names & Prices.

They produce good sound & are very attractive for the prices, but they cant produce Quality Sound at Low Volume. I hear to my 880W speakers with just 25% Volume, not more than that all the Time.

So 3000W, 5000W wont make Much difference to me, all I want is Quality sound at Low Volumes.

I was looking at Logitech x-230 (Rs. 2,700) Wall-Mountable Satellite Speakers; & Altec Lansing APT3 2.1 Spkrs 3,000 or Creative Inspire 2.1 Spkrs M2600 for Rs.2,000; may be later rather than buying that ORDINARY Speakers Again.

Thats very True, Thats why I am here seeking advice from those who had Listened to few of them before.

  :hap2: :hap2:

"wooden" speakers should really be made of wood. most cheap stuff is just plastic with wood finish stuck onto it. Tap the speakers to hear if it makes a dull thud like wood :)

^hehehe good thought.
once I accidently broked one of my satelite speaker, and I found it made of wood only.
For sure Intex and other frontec are made up of Thermoset.
And it produce good quality sound at lower volumes it has a decent bass too.

I am not advocating my speaker as best verdict. I am just sharing my experince with it coz I own it.

The inspire M2600 is boomy enough to satisfy your bass cravings.:P
As for the "sound quality", you shouldn't expect much from a 1.5k speaker set.
