Title says it all.. A8N-E or the DFI board for 3K more? CPU will be the A64 3000+ I bought from Funky. Leaning toward the Asus.. it's quite a decent OCer, innit?

if u are planning to do some serious OCing then only get the DFi ...... and also get a better kooler coz i don't think u willl be running ur proccy with more than 1.55v 24/7 ...... so if u are plnning to be on the stock kooler A8N-E will do fine .... :)

For beginers ASUS... For TeachHead DFI :ohyeah: but yes its overpriced....

OT: I hope you still remember what you promised for the new year's ;)

Remind me again, what DID I promise?

Hey my knowledge is limited when it comes to overclocking? i wanna try it out....i read a lot no practical knowledge i want to build a crazy pc i want to go in for the DFI Ut4 ultra d, i know its features, how much different is the Asus A8N-E when it comes to features?

^^since u said u are a beginner...u might wanna stick with the a8ne..dfi has many options and u might find some difficulty with it.

i remember eddy posting somewhere that the mem controllers are now on-die and hence the motherboards make a very limited difference..correct me tho:)

edit: this for the guy above switch:P

The stupid smiley change :ohyeah:

Hehe, yeah! No worries.. will happen :bleh:
argus_smith - yep.. performance wise, no diff bw a Jetway and a DFI.... OCing wise, HUGE diff!

Tech Head is the Venice pretested for good overclocking or not(As you bought from funky)... If it is get a DFI... If it isnt then check it and if it not a good overclocker then get the ASUS...

2.7Ghz Prime stable in funky's UT-NF4!

But another cost I have to factor in - upgrade price of my 6600GT to PCI-E.. just hope BBC doesn't rip me off there..

And hey.. it's Prime ABGB we're dealing with here.. bugger may just price the board at 9.5K

Well Techhead... If you are buying DFI then pass the cabby to me... i will buy it for 3K from you... Remember the combo offer...

What happened to your 9800 pro. Did those buggers take it back ?

Are u gonna get an aftermarket cooler for ur CPU and pair the CPU with an OCZ ? If so, get the DFI. If not - A8N-E all the way. Seriously good overclocker and very stable - One of the best NF4 boards.

HAHA! Was right, the NF4-Ultra D is 9.5K there, the A8N-E is 6.2K and SLI-DR is 15.5K. Idiot!

DDFFFIIIII

Never in my life have i seen a better ocing board :) running ram 300MHz At 2.5-3-3-6 !!! sure it took a while to get that but dayumm

But hmm....if you dont have time to do some serious tweaking the A8n-E will be ok.... There the same price in the US but err ...yea

The DFI is still the overall winner at stock settings though and you dont have to change the settings you dont know if your planning on running stock
