i agree , let TE have designated reviewers , the budding wanna be reviewers can send their reviews to them to be vetted and published or refused , that will be a better way than the system being open to all
Dont you think that will create a gap between a writer and a person who would want to be a writer/reviewer ? What I mean to say is that this bias between TE Approved/Non-Approved will defeat the whole idea of a community - Say a guy who is pretty new in TE but a pretty seasoned reviewer with knowledge wants to do a review - What happens to him ? All his views will be censored ?

You have to remember TE tag opens the door for reviewers who want to misuse the name.

I would humbly like to suggest the following,

1. If someone wants their review to get the TE stamp, it needs to be reviewed by mods or a group of people designated by mods, list of which can be public (or not, its up to them), and a stamp "TE approved" or similar will only be put when approved. And the stamp should have a copyright preventing misuse legally (I hope that is the way it works)

2. The reviews which are unapproved or are not submitted for a TE stamp, should be in a separate section and should have a disclaimer, this section is anyways monitored by mods, so useless reviews can always be removed.

3. As far as TE recommended reviewers are concerned, which I believe there should be for a Technology forum of this size, should depend on the mods, and such a tag should only be given to reviewers who have enough TE approved reviews. Considering that everyone cannot be a TE recommend reviewer, there can be levels like beginner(for new reviewers with a few reviews which are TE approved) and expert(which should be straight away given to reviewers like Sorcerer and Shripad, if such a system is put in place)
Just a few thoughts I had...

no it wont , once a new guy will write a review and if its good then he can be "promoted "

Better yet, make a new section where only the official reviews can be published by designated reviewers. The rest of us can keep filling the existing reviews section as much as we can. So no need of censoring any review and such in the existing section. The designated reviewers together with the mods can keep adding new reviewers from this pool when required after looking at our previous reviews in the forum.

Here's a second one from Asus. This one is from their FB page:

So only mods are allowed to give "reviewer's choice" tags?
