AC Outdoor Unit- Safety ?

How safe is the outdoor unit sitting without much protection? (just two nuts..:S)

Is there any chance that it may get stolen?

Anyone had any such bad experience..

How can we secure it ?
 
Recently late at night someone stole about 15 feet of copper piping from a ground floor flat's split AC - this was in the building next to mine, the thief probably needed to make a heat sink for a hot CPU :)

My Splits external box does not even have a single nut - they tied it down with the same plastic ties we use in our computers :( My apartment is on the first floor.
 
do not worry. ask a welder to make a cage with a facility for opening on top side. then fix the cage with the wall so that ur ac outdoor unit is caught in the cage with wall on one side and remaining sides by the cage. ok sleep well.
