AC tonnage vs room size?

Could some one give me an AC tonnage vs room size details. My room is 18*10*10 (L*B*H) ft. So, googling got me confused. Some calculators say 1 Ton others 1.5 Ton

I want to buy a Split AC. So first, help me out with this problem then I'll have to look into the brands. Btw, budget 35k no more.

Regards,
John

Thanks for the replies. The bluestar calculator recommends 1Ton AC but most people I have spoken to have suggested 1.5 Ton. So any other "formula" to atleast calculate my requirement to some approximation.

What is the location of your room.Like is it the top most floor. How many windows and what amount of sunlight you get. I have burnt my hands already by buying 1 Ton AC as per site and recommendation because besides the size of the room other factors like placement of the room, sunlight, windows need to be taken into consideration. Finally had to dump that 1 ton AC and get 1.5 later

Best bet is 1.5 Ton AC always.(Dont skip on the star rating however ).
