Access denied while trying to delete folders in Vista [I am Administrator]

I am logged in as administrator in a laptop having Vista Business Installed. Just now i used DVD decrypted to copy a DVD but since the copy did not happen as per my requirement, i wanted to delete those files and folders. But when i tried doing that i was greeted with access denied error.
I tried to search on net and this is a very common problem with this sucky OS but i have no clue how to solve this. Due to this there are redundant folders on this machine which need to be deleted but i cannot.
Please do not suggest changing OS and/or booting using some Linux DVD/CD and deleting as it is not feasibile since it is not my laptop and the person who has this is really not very advanced when it comes to computers.

Well i had a reg file which when run would let you gain ownership on files. It used to integrate in right click menu. Will try finding it. :)

I attached both reg. One which used to install it and one for uninstalling it. Installing it would add something like "Take ownership" to the right click. It worked for me when i by mistake changed the ownership of all my data. Hope it helps you :)

Method suggested by Sei worked well for me. I was then able to delete the file. But this one click thing by Faraz will also help.

Is such a scenario expected for windows 7 also? (Win 7 noob here)

^These things generally happen when some other process creates that folder. For e.g. if you installed a program and the installation failed. The temporary folders created would probably be created with a different owner than yourself, hence the issues.

And yes, this can be expected on any OS, be it XP, Vista or 7.

In XP the implementation of ACL (Access Control List) is not as stringent as it is on Vista and 7. This is the reason you didnt face any issues in XP.

But in my case the folder i created was done manually by me and its name was Videos while the video files created inside were done by the DVD decrypter program. Does this still amount to "another process creating and now i cannot delete it" scenario ?
