Storage Solutions Accidentally shook my PC - Will this damage my hard disks ?

You DO a backup of this RIGHT ?

The 1TB WD10EADS I got for that purpose.
However it showed 30 only mb at start. (refer my other thread)

hard disks should sustain that much shock, infact more than that.

some people have said their hard disks worked perfectly even after dropping it. well, you dont always get lucky. i had accidently dropped a notebook hard disk from 8 inches above the table and it wouldnt even detect again.

Actually we cant say when a HDD will fail
sometimes it may fall from our hand and will work sometime it just goes off

SO better is to keep a backup write your most important datas to DVD

DVD's are real cheap now.

HDD by the way is a sensitive device

it can sustain shocks to some extend only i think yours is fine if u hear some

"tak tak" voices from your hdd then beware
