Ace Combat 6 x360 exclusive, [rumour]FF XIII coming as well

March 20, 2007 - As if yesterday's news of Devil May Cry's defection

from the Sony exclusivity camp didn't put enough mega in the ton, word

has reached us of another big PlayStation franchise that's making its

way to the 360. This week's Famitsu is home to first details and

screens for Ace Combat 6. That's right, following Ridge Racer 6's 360

debut back in 2005, Bandai Namco has decided to bring another "6" to

the 360. Will Tekken be next?

The full name of this latest entry in Japan's most popular console

flight game is Ace Combat 6: Kaiho e no Senbi. Ace Combat 04 director

Hiroyuki Ichiyanagi is serving as the game's producer, with Ace Combat

04 planner and Ace Combat 5 main planner Natsuki Isaki taking on

directorial responsibilities.

.............

Xbox Live support will also play a big part in the game -- not

surprising, considering how great the online play in Ridge Racer 6

turned out. We can look forward to online battle royal and team

battle. Or, if everyone is feeling friendly, a cooperative play option

lets all human players group together to take on a powerful enemy

force. We don't have specifics just yet on how many players the game

will support simultaneously.

Bandai Namco is also including a ranking mode, and even has plans for

downloads. The downloads will actually be kicking off well before the

game's release. On Friday, the marketplace will take delivery of

themes and icons, which we'd suggest you download immediately to show

off your excitement of more "6" games coming to the Xbox 360.

Ace Combat 6 hits the Japanese Xbox 360 later this year. There's no

word in Famitsu on a PS3 version, so for now, we're going to assume

this is a 360 exclusive.

In an interview granted to the daily newspaper the Last News of Alsace, George Fornay, President de Sony Computer Entertainment France, confirms that PlayStation 3 is sold at a loss and gives some figures, ' the official figures do not lie: we will lose 2 billion euros on a world level this year. But that is accepted, because it is a bet on the future, we intend to earn money on the plays and the accessories. We had lost 500 million euros, already, at the time of the launching of PlayStation 2.'. But much more worrying, George Fornay seems to call into question exclusiveness PlayStation 3 in Final Fantasy XIII (even if the terms employed are not really explicit), the title more awaited on the new console of Sony Computer Entertainment, ' the development cost of the plays exploded, it becomes difficult to have exclusivenesses, except our own plays. But we will have as of launching 30 plays, of which MotorStorm, Resistance: Fall of Man or Virtua Fighter 5. Moreover, we await 200 plays from here the end of 2007. Lastly, for Final Fantasy XIII, I can say to you that exclusiveness is under discussion.'. In short, of the advertisements not very justifying at two days of the launching of PlayStation 3 in Europe, and after the advertisement of Devil May Cry 4 on Xbox 360 and PC.

plays = games :P

Final Fantasy XIII : une exclu en discussion

I heard of the possibility of FFXIII going to the X360 after there was reportedly going to be an actual discussion about it within the company. This would be huge.. very huge. A lot huger than DMC4. About on par with GTA4. It would also be a fun personal moment for us TE'rs cause we'ld get to hear Sony's doom being called right from Params' own mouth.
I also knew AC6 was coming to the x360, but I had no idea that it might possibly be exclusive. Going multiplatform would only confirm the 'preferred choice' status that it's been enjoying so far but complete exclusivity would only reflect negatively on the PS3. That would be bad.

Sony will do what they have to (including giving Kutaragi's first born' soul to SquareEnix as a sacrifice) to make sure that FF stays a PS exclusive. If they don't they could really, really be f***ed.

This could be the foothold MS need in Japan.

What really surprises me about Sony is how they seemed to have completely lost their convincing powers. They're losing exclusives like as if they were literally throwing them at MS.

words is on the street that M$ might also try and acquire take 2 and seal GTA 4's exclusivity. Now that most 3rd party devs are going to support all platforms(not much love for Wii though) let the console wars be fought the way they should be i.e. on 1st party exclusives. M$ has a long way to go in that direction especially when it comes to the variety in games.

Yeah. I heard take 2 was up for grabs. Rumours flying everywhere about MS, Sony and EA needing to aquire them.

Take-2 owns and Rockstar owns GTA. If its really true, this company is going to go for a lot of money.

If X360 gets GTA4 exclusive = Ps3 dead.

If FF13 goes to X360 = Ps3 is nearly dead, it'll lose everything in NA but yet nobody will buy the 360 in Japan.

But ofcourse, I wouldn't count on Sony letting go of those two that easily!

If I were in Sony right now, I'd counter DMC4's loss quick with an official confirmation of GoW3 on Ps3, and leak some details on the new 'HOME' network.

Nooooooooooooooo!

That Cannot Happen (REPEAT) Cannot Happen!!:@ Please God!!!

Araghhhh!:@:@:@:@:@:@

I love those games!AC,FF,GTA..........Please please!!!!

Cool down! Ace Combat will come to Ps3, its probably a timed exclusive on the 360, if not the sequel will come (like the next WWE game coming to Ps3 when SvR2007 was on X360 and Ps2 only, and Namco's own Ridge Racer 6 being exclusive to X360 and 7 being exclusive to Ps3)

^ I sincerely hope you're right. I never would've guessed even AC would switch camps. I was almost certainly gonna buy a PS3 until this news came out.

I agree with Params. I don't think Namco will abandon Sony fans. What I don't agree about is RR6 and 7. For the last time. It's the same damn game just renamed for the PS3 for reasons that are very obvious.

A timed exclusive might be even worse. A thus far Sony exclusive is now suddenly timed exclusive with advantage going to the x360? Sounds like excellent fuel to light all the negativity concerning the difficulty of developing stuff for the PS3.
