Laptops Acer 4530 Vs Acer 4730z ??

Hello friends,

Can anyone tell me which would be best to purchase ? Acer 4530 Or 4730z
(4530 is replacement of 4520)

I have already compared both in my way in screenshot attached with price (eX Bangalore)

Just confused on few points ?

4520 has 3DSonic stereo speakers, What 4730z has ? How is sound effect on both ?

Which is good - NVIDIA GeForce 9100M Or Intel GL40 Graphics ?

Is it available only in Glossy blue colour for outside panel ?

Please review & give your view. If you own any of these laptops, please write comments.

If there are other good laptops availble within same price range (< 31000 Rs) do suggest them.

hey from where did u get the quotation of 4530 for 28k

Actually the processor on the 4730z is better than the one on the 4530. Just check this table: Notebookcheck: Mobile Processors - Benchmarklist

But the onboard graphics on the 4730z is no match for the onboard 9100M graphics chip on the 4530. But the AMD processor generates more heat than the Intel processor on the 4730z.

If you ask me, my suggestion would be to buy the 4530 because of the cheap price and the onboard graphics from Nvidia. If you want to, you can buy a notebook cooler too to keep the heat in check.
 
Any idea on Intel GL40 Graphics Vs NVIDIA GeForce 9100M

Thinking more on 4730z as I get 3 GB RAM & 250 GB HDD with just 3000 more.

What do you say ?
 
The Nvidia is better. Get the 4530.

Even i saw it at my dealer last week for 28k :P That was displayed price. I am betting actual pricing will be lower. :D
 
I thought this nvidia is the "on board" kinda graphics and not discrete which is in same league as intel's , note the M in 9100M... I personally would prefer the 4730z with 3gb ram and bigger HD for just 3k more like you say...

ps: ubuntu users are reporting upcoming 9.04 works flawlessly with it :) and i tested my coworker's 4530 with 8.10 that works too... so if you dont need Windows and can get it without OS it will be a very good deal for either model...
 
Only problem I heard is Heating up of 4530, Inspite of having GEForce graphics it shares RAM of around 256. It heats up a lot while playing games.

Would like to know about laptop speakers of both.

As per TE users its 50-50 for both laptops.

Confused :(

One of my friend has brought it...it gets heated up while playing games although he is using Cooler...+ the battery life is also less than 2 hours :huh:
 
Compaq Presario CQ40-317TU sounds tough competition to 4730z

I am cancelling 4530 almost due to heating problems.

Compaq Presario CQ40-317TU- 30000 + Tax

4730z - 31000 with Tax

i wud recommend compaq since it has gm45 chipset as compared to gl40 of acer.(not sure)

also, i like compaq's build quality and looks to be better than acer (this can vary from one person's perception to another's).
 
can you please comment on speaker quality of Compaq Presario CQ40-317TU

4730z has bad sound quality compare to 4530(its 3D Sonic speakers)
