Wat is the price of 3 cell aspire one XP version? Today i inquired in 2 - 3 shops including ezone showroom... The minimum price was 22800... This ezone guy said it is a 4 cell version with 4 hours backup and the price is 23999.. Is there even a 4 cell version developed by acer?:S
I remember from techie_007 review in TE that its price is 21700 1 month back.. why the hell the price is high here in bangalore? B'lore peeps anybody who has this? is this available in SP road?

FUD :P

Theres only a 3 cell version. The E-Zone guy just quoted u the official Acer MRP :P Battery life is like 2.5 hrs.

The 6 cell battery was supp to be sold as an accessory but dunno if its even avl yet :)

If you have someone going from pune to bangy maybe can send u one :bleh:

Also, there a version with same specs but no XP (linux instead, u can always format ;)) 19.X k :D

Just haggle a bit .....it was 22k ish last week...but this $ price is nt helping at all things :(

But I will urge u to get the wind rather at arhd 21k or so :D

Pros:

1. The wind has a larger (size) 10" screen with same resolution. + keyboard will prob be a bit bigger too. Winds supposed to have ok build quality as well. Although I found the Aspire one quite good as well.

2. Inbuilt bluetooth, not that big a plus point tho :P

3. 1.3MP webcam vs the 0.3MP (640X480) on the aspire one.

Cons:

1. Only 80Gb HDD vs the 120Gb on the wind.

Overall, I would say check out both. The Linux Aspire One is more VFM at <20k.

If you can get the Asus E1000H, nothing like it though. Almost same specs, bigger 160Gb HDD, and a 4 cell battery with almost 5 hours battery life. But then it costs more too :P

EDIT: MSI Wind in pune was 21.5k + VAT i think, need to confirm though. :ashamed:

1000h is 6 cell right?

Nope, thats where people get confused.

Heres some research I did:

1. Initial batches of the E1000H WITH the 80Gb HDD were 6cell batteries (6600mAh). This battery blended in perfectly with the netbook. Upto 7 hrs of batt life.

2. Once the MSI wind dropped prices, Asus needed to compete, so they upped the HDD to 160Gb. :D

3. HOWEVER, they also reduced the battery to a 4-cell 5600mAh one (expenses, expenses ). This lasts for about 4-5 hours of normal usage which, mind you, is still pretty good. This battery also protrudes slightly from the back. Expect pics and a review soon :P

IMO, the Asus is still VFM for the larger battery life you get out of it, if mobility is your major concern and you know ur gonna be using it on the move for long times. The battery might be 4cell, but u still get quite some runtime over the Aspire one and the Wind.
