Hmm Linux version it is then. I will just install Xp on it.

My Linux version came with a Linux Recovery DVD so I guess the Windows XP version comes with a Windows Recovery DVD. But, let's see what XP version owners post.

No it does not. Xp version comes with a recovery partition.

There was some kinda partition with the Linux version too. May be it was the Recovery Partition. I deleted as I wouldn't ever need it.

So you mean no CD or DVD comes with the Windows Version? That's lame. What if the HDD goes bust?

How do you install XP on the new HDD?

How do you install XP on the new HDD?

1. You can use a pen drive for one. Google for exact details. But it does work, I have tried it :)

2. Simply get an install media from somewhere n use your own key/OEM key file etc.

Not very complicated man. For that matter, even the OS disc could get scratched :P

I know how to use those methods dude. What i meant was Acer should have bundled an Install Media with it. It's not gonna cost a bomb.
