The new Acer Ferrari 5000 and Ferrari 1000 laptops are powered by AMD 64 X2 dual core mobile processor and wrapped around carbon fiber chasing.

Acer today unveiled the new Ferrari 5000 and Ferrari 1000 laptops.

Based on AMD Turion 64 X2 dual core mobile processor, the new Ferrari 5000 is a 15.4-inch widescreen laptop essentially replacing the Ferrari 4000 and comes with HD-DVD drive. The Ferrari 1000 is a 12-inch widescreen ultraportable. Both wrapped around carbon fiber casing and of course sport the Ferrari Formula One design with Black and Ferrari Red trim.



Ferrari 5000
The 15.4-inch widescreen is a desktop replacement that features AMD Turion 64 X2 dual core mobile processor and comes with a wide array of features:
  • Acer OrbiCam 1.3-megapixel webcamera built on the LCD panel
  • Wireless 802.11a/b/g
  • Bluetooth 2.0
  • Gigabit LAN/56K
  • 160GB Hard Drive
  • Slot-Loading HD-DVD drive
  • Memory Card reader
  • Graphics card unknown

Ferrari 1000
This ultraportable laptop comes with a 12.1-inch widescreen CrystalBrite display and uses an integrated ATI Radeon XPRESS 1150 chipset supporting 512MB Hypermemory.

  • 12.1-inch Acer CrystalBrite widescreen
  • Acer OrbiCam 1.3-megapixel webcamera built on the LCD panel
  • 3.7 pounds

Specifications are particular unclear on the Turion 64 X2 speeds, pricing, and availability.

hey, is this posted because it was never done here before? Pretty much old news now- Ferrari 5000 and 1000 series are already out in the international market. What is funny about this is, I posted that news on laptoplogic myself if I am not mistaken.
