Acer chairman JT Wang has commented that the company is not concerned about the possible entrance of Nokia in the netbook market, noting that PC vendors will have the advantage when competing for telecom providers' orders.

Wang pointed out that PC vendors are still unable to compete against handset vendors over their long-term partnerships with telecom providers, but since' netbooks are attracting consumers to start using 3G services, Wang believes PC vendors' partnerships with telecom providers will catch up to handset vendors within a year.

Another advantage PC vendors have is their low component costs with which handset vendors are unable to compete, Wang added.

Wang also noted that Acer welcomes the entrance of new competitors believing it will help expand the market.

Well Acer need not to worry .. Nokia will not be offering Windows for starters.. Either they will be offering moblin or their own QT based environment developed by KDE developers called Maemo :)

I would love to see their processor selection, it will either be Atom or ARM :P
