Problem: Bought the laptop in Jan last year and the battery backup is like 30-45 minutes. Its a 4-cell battery. It has 50% wear.
I live about 35 KMs away from the only service centre in NCR.
Trip 1: They ask me to leave the laptop and come after 5 hours. At the end of the day they still havent checked the laptop so they return it coz I cant live a day with out it. However they keep the battery for replacement.
BTW sudddenly my laptop battery starts reporting 35% wear. Not bad but I still want that new battery.
Trip 2: After 7 days I go to take the brand new battery, I am so excited. I come back with it and install it.... OMG this thing just doesnt charge beyond 99% and has 70% wear. I am so screwed.
(I should have kept the 35% wear battery)
Trip 3: I go and talk to them and they happily give me another *new* battery. New here and henceforth means repaired batteries. (apparently they dont even know which ones were repaired and which ones had come for repair coz they keep giving me crap).
Now this one doesnt charge beyond 91% and has 30% damage. Good thing is that it gives me 1:30 hours bakcup. What should I say I am elated and too tired to go back again.
As days pass by the 91% gradually kept coming down to 83% and I was petrified coz the warranty is about to get over.
(I should have kept the 35% wear battery)
Trip 4: Alright another trip. This time the manager of the centre was also there, maybe that helped my cause. Needless to mention that I started narrating my painful life and the pain that they have inflicted upon me over the month.
Well this time some other senior person takes care of my case, he also gives me a *new* battery. He tells me that it is an 8 cell battery and even though I should not have any problem with it, but if I do its probably my mobo.
Well thats it. Thats the Happy ending. (Thank god I didnt keep the 35% wear battery)
