The much awaited timelineX has been launched in India and US .

SemiAccurate :: Acer Aspire TimelineX finally launches stateside

There are no 13" 38320TG in India or in US . They are only available in few european countries and Singapore.

Here is some showroom gyan

-4820T - i3 330M,3Gb,320GB - Rs42000 net . i saw it on display today and it looked very slim ; 6000mAh;48Wh

-4820TG - i3 330M ; 3GB ; 320 GB ; 5650 512MB - 45500

-4820TG - i5 430M (may be) ; 4GB ; 5650 1GB - 52500

the sad part is there is no 3820TG which comes with dual fans and heatsinks and 4820TG temp. reaches upto 95C and shuts down.

-also on display was 5745g - i5 450M ; 4GB ; 500GB ; 330M 256MB ; 4400mAh ,48Wh - Rs48000

its sh0wr00m price so it may be 1-3K more than the original price
 
The showroom u asked have quoted very very high

i got the following quote from itwares

dont know the quote for 4820t

4820TG -i3 5650 512mb -41500 approx cause i forgot

4820TG i5 5650 1GB-48000

5745G the one u mentioned for 43700-44500 (not itware other dealer)i think its 1gb not 256mb
 
yes you are right . he is also told me the prices are going to increase on new stock . i knew the prices are high thats why i wrote "showroom gyaan" .

Its a timeline series so that's quite a possibility. Don't think ati has come up with an answer to optimus yet so it must be a in-house switching technique by acer which means a reboot will be needed.
 
^There is no rebooting but i read that when switching from 3d to 2d or the other way round ,the screen flashes on and off

By the way the acer Laptops price has slashed particularly 4820TG even further and they are now available readily in Mumbai
 
its has keypad but whats the use of buying a bigger laptop and it has the same resolution screen.

als - all models from 13 -15 comes with discrete options that include 5470 or 5650 . different models are launched in different countries . some countries even have 3820TG with i7-620m

bhupatib- i like the manual switching more over the automatic . nvidia optimus isnt something very special , it switches using application whitelist . the ati manual switching is the poorest advertised feature in all the notebooks that have it.

ATI is working on its version of Optimus - Notebooks - Fudzilla

als- where did you get the get quote for 45k??
