Looks like Acer will be launching a new smartphone, and it will also be the company's first droid running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Granted it's not the latest Android 4.2, but hey for a somewhat mid range device (sorry but the Nexus 4 and it's $299 pricing has screwed up what's mid range nowadays) it packs some decent specs and some more.
Acer V360

The Acer V360 aims to be a mid range droid with pretty decent specifications. Packing a 4.5" qHD display and a dual core processor and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, I'll be damned if this device doesn't pack 1 GB of RAM and that the 5 MP front facing camera doesn't shoot 720p. Well, that pretty much makes this decent mid ranger.
Aver v360 Specifications

  • 1 GHz dual core CPU
  • 4.5" qHD (960*540) display
  • 5 MP rear camera
  • VGA front facing camera
  • 140 grams weight, 9.9 mm thickness
  • Black & White color schemes
  • Android 4.1 Jelly Bean
  • Estimated $300 price tag

The device should launch for about $300. At that price it competes with the likes of Sony Xperia P. In fact the Xperia P ends up being cheaper. But this is just the launch price. Drop it to about $240 and you really have an interesting option. Otherwise, according to me, the Sony Xperia P remains a much more viable choice considering it's 8 MP camera which is capable of 1080p video recording, slated Android 4.1 Jelly Bean upgrade, a White Magic powered qHD display and Sony's good looking Xperia 2012 design.
