Did any ACT/BEAM subscribers one get an email from Hungama.com with login credentials even though you have not registered for the service?

I got an such an e-mail and immediately called customer care. The guy confirmed that I don't have any Hungama subscription activated, but he has no clue about the e-mail.

I keep getting the occasional similar emails from various websites (I'm not ACT/BEAM subscriber) - I think it's some moron(s) who enter my email address (same name as me) and these lousy websites don't bother sending confirmation/activation links and directly send you the user/account info.

I even get emails from Vodafone Delhi (I'm in Pune) for some idiot corporate account which includes his name/address/number details - they send dual emails with monthly statement and separate email with password to my address.

I've replied to them (Vodafone - I dont bother with the crap website for fear of getting more spam from them) the customer support with standard "I am unintended recipient" response but they still send me the wrong emails.

Hungama probably got your email ID from somewhere (maybe movie ticket booking or some similar stuff) and are sending you these emails.

Hungama has a tie up with ACT. ACT subscribers can pay 200/- for hungama subscription and they get 15GB extra FUP. They have the ads going on the portal page. The mail sent to me contains my name as it is in ACT records and they have provided my email id as hungama account name and some random password. Point is this requires explicit registration and the cc guy told me that they cannot activate the subscription from their side even if a customer asks for it.

Shitty tactic from ACT or hungama. By mistake, if you login into hungama withthat email login and password, I think the subscription may be activated

I called CC today and they say that free access till May 31st is being provided to subscribers of the top tier (100 Mbps) plans and that the subscription will be deactivated automatically at the end of the period if I don't opt to continue it.

Highly unlikely that they would deactivate it automatically though.
