Adblock plus uninstalls itself every time I close chrome browser

I have started facing this peculiar problem since last few days. One fine day, I see that the Adblock plus extension on the google chrome browser had uninstalled somehow. So I reinstalled it and it worked fine.
Then I closed the browser and shutdown the laptop for the day and the next day when I opened chrome again, Adblock plus was gone. So for trial purpose, I reinstalled Adblock plus and then shutdown chrome and opened and it we gone again.
I have no idea why this is happening. Also scanned my computer using Avira antivirus and also malware bytes.
PS: There is no such problem with the Adblock plus of Firefox.

Check if you are running Chrome in incognito mode. Also check from the extension settings menu whether it's getting uninstalled or disabled.

Just to know, have you installed the AdBLOCK and ADBLOCK PLUS extension on your Chrome Browser for simultaneous use?

Try Adblock instead Adblock Plus.

No, not disabled, gets uninstalled everytime, i did check this.

And if possible run a virus check (!)

Both infact have a OCTOGON symbol.

Now let me just tell you what problem i have faced,

When i installed both these ADV blocking software i faced a problem. Adblock Plus extension wouldnt install and kept telling me there is already another AD blocking software installed on chrome (i.e. AdBlock) was installed first. So I decided to keep Adblock and let go off Adblock Plus.

So the software was intelligent in telling i could not use both the extension, similar like those antivirus software issues..

Why dont you try each one individually and see which work fine?.. Else remove Chrome entirely using Revo Uninstaller and do a fresh setup.. Backup your book marks Just in case!

Are you running Chrome on WIN/MAC?

Online? I don't know. But if you can download it, then avast home edition (which is free) would be a good option.

I shall try what you said but i have already uninstalled and reinstalled once using windows default utility. I am using adbllock PLUS and using the same in firefox as well. Not the one which has hand symbol but the one with ABP written inside. May be i will try Adblock and see if it performs that good.
