Laptops add ram to eeepc1000h

i checked on the net and found that there is only one slot so to upgrade u hav to take out the 1gb ram and put in 2gb one.
but a few people who hav done it said that even after doing it the Windows system can still recognize 1GB instead but the Bios shows 2GB. Do you know how to solve this?
has anyone faced this problem?also will the ram upgrade make any significant change in performance.

ps-will changing ram void the warranty
 
deepak my eepc was upgraded to 2gb at the store where i bought it and in the poperties ie the my computer properties it shows 1.99 gb.So should not be a problem coz i have not faced anyproblems.even upgraded the os to xp pro.no problems here also.
 
did not see ur second q.No upgrading the ram does not void the warranty as is the case in msi wind.My dealer has given me the warranty card stamped after upgrading the ram to 2gb.
 
guess i'll have to wait 2 months for my eeepc 1000h cos of some conditions of deal.:(
but still a great deal nonetheless.
pls anyone who has one tell me if upgrading ram to 2gb would make significant diff?

yes,it'll be shipped after 2 mopnths but rahul has assured me that it'll be in brand new condition.its some stipulation from the asus guys.
but since rahul is a trusted dealer i hav faith in him.

well, I dont like Rahul doing something like that :P

First it was the whole pricing confusion and now this, IMO dealers should have their facts straight before posting a deal here.

IMO he should agree to refund your money back, get it back and get a new one after 2 months or a new one right now. After 2 months you have no idea what the price will be.
 
Trust me, you don't want this deal. Not for Rahul's integrity, I don't doubt it for a minute, but there's something some people know which I doubt he does. I do, so get your refund and sit tight.

It's good news, btw, not bad. I can't say more as I'd be violating an NDA.
