Graphic Cards Adjust GPU fan speed

I am using an XFX 7900GS card and it does have variable fan speeds. In 2D mode it spins slowly and in 3D mode, it spins fast.

Now I have downloaded nTune and tried to keep the GPU fan speed at 100% always since I am overclocking the card. However this does not seem to make any difference. I thought maybe the computer has to be rebooted for the changes to take effect, but the values reverted back to their defaults.

does anyone have experience with ntune and GPU fan speed settings? Need your help...

Thanks but already tried that. Even used nTune, still doesn't work. Going to have to flash the BIOS and make the changes in there.

AMAZING! I flashed a video card BIOS for the very first time and I'm happy with the results.

I used nvflash.exe to first store the BIOS in a file (DOS mode) then used Nibitor to modify the default fan speed (2D/3D mode) and saved the changes in a separate file. (ALWAYS keep a copy of the original vid BIOS). Then again back into DOS Mode using nvflash.exe to update the BIOS from the modified file. Works really well. Set the fan speed to 88% of maximum fan speed (from 30%) under load.
