Hi friends,

I have an Airtel broadband connection (phone line wala). I want to buy ADSL Modem having Hardware Firewall. My internet connection is under surveillance by some bad guys and they are misusing the information in bad way and disturbing my life.

My budget is 2000 rupees.

Please suggest some good ADSL modems with inbuilt good firewall.

Thanks in Advance.

If you are really concerned, then you have to increase your budget and get those Netgear modems with firewall.
I'll try and give you more details after speaking to my friend who works in a company that manufactures firewall. Should take a day or two though.

I will increase the budget, no issue, but I want that hardware fire within the modem itself. Please tell the model number of adsl modem. will replace the beteel model that airtel gave me.

Any modem that has a NAT already provides a hardware firewall.

If you disable it say by putting the modem in bridge mode so you can access from outside then you would require an extra firewall.

Another thing that strikes me is whether your pc may already be compromised. If thats the case then there is nothing stopping your PC making outbound connection even with a proper firewall in place.

Its not clear where exactly the problem is here.

1. My facebook account hacked. Some idiot posted from my login ID on my facebook wall, which is a impossible thing.
2. I did reservation from IRCTC site. That person planned to screw me on train in which I boarded along with about 10 persons.

3. Continuously observing which site I am going and telling the neighbours and ruining my public image.

Please guide me what to do?

And when you changed the FB password was there a repeat ?

Change the user id & password on your present modem. Is it default or not ? Then see if it continues or not.

You're with airtel so what model of modem do you have ?

Yeah. These seems to be some sort of virus or something. It's not that your internet connection is getting monitored by some bad guys.

All the traffic (of Facebook, IRCTC) are encrypted. And hackers have no reason to hack your Facebook A/c or your CC Information. Believe me they won't put that effort to get information about you and me and people like us.

Anyway still if you want to get a router, get TP Link W8968.

I have got the router few weeks ago, after getting the suggestions from different forums. And it's really awesome. I'm using it with Airtel BB too. Previously used BSNL.

1. Believe me, as all said above, your PC is compromised, no problem with your Router / Internet Connection.

2. Same here, looks like some kind of Trojan Backdoor. Are you sure you didn't posted everything on Social Networking Site about your journey and all?

3. Well, I'd suggest better format your PC (if possible). Else do a normal scan and boot time scan with Avast and Avira (Both Free). Try malwarebytes after that. Remember to install one AV at a time.

Seems like some URL redirection on your pc to airtel servers in Delhi.
Download tdss killer and run it. It will check your pc for malware.
http://www.kaspersky.com/downloads/free-antivirus-tools

Also remove both Norton and McAfee from your pc. Both are not good at detection rates and usually get infected first. Suggest you to download avast antivirus. If you haven't yet enabled windows 7 inbuilt firewall, please do so.

The log file for most are fine, except for those IP address starting with 160.x
Seems there is some software redirecting your pc through those two servers always.
Reset your ipconfig and flush DNS addresses.
