Which is the best ADSL USB Modem for a 256Kbps Airtel Broadband Connection in a budget of Rs. 3000 with strong drivers support, Vista Compatibility & features such as port forwarding?

How is the Linksys ADSL2MUE ADSL2 Modem with USB & Ethernet?

The modem 220BX beetel provided with their service is compatible with USB. You dont need to buy another modem.

220BX is both a modem as well as a router(running on linux). It can be connected via USB or through ethernet. Mine is configured through ethernet and it is completely trouble free option. You do not even need to install any drivers in that case.

@Udit: In what way are you facing problems with ethernet connection? It should be the most trouble free option. If you got some other modem, then get the Airtel people to change it to a 220BX instead of purchasing a new modem.

thanks for the suggestions.

i will ask the airtel guys.

but still How is the Linksys ADSL2MUE ADSL2 Modem with USB & Ethernet?

Sorry guys for change in this topic, but want to know whether you're receiving 256kbps speed; taken this connection 1 month back but never able to receive more than 180-190kbps even in night hours.
