Hello Folks,
So I took the plunge to do the Hackintosh myself too, and boy its worth it!!! I did it on my main PC (config below)
Asus P8Z68 Deluxe (non pcie3) + i72600K
Gskill Sniper 16GB
Mac OS X 10.7.4 copy bought from a friend
80GB Sata II HDD
Zotac GT 430 2GB + Asus GTX 680
27" 2560x1440 monitor with one dual dvi port (thats it only one port)
logitech G15 +G9x+c525 webcam working without any drivers installed separately
Drivers like Audio, Ethernet, USB3 being the biggest hurdle in setting these type of setup was a breeze with the help of my good old friend #aasimenator & someone from kexts.com & ofcourse multibeast ;-). Given that there is no working driver kexts for GTX 680 for my board, I was compelled to buy a Zotac GT 430 2gb card to get the native resolution of 2560x1440 on my monitor, and it sure did worked out of the box like a charm, no need to install any kext and besides was getting the resoluton of 2560x1440, I am satisifed with this build as far as Mac is concerned.
BUT....
But for Windows 7 I realsied that I cant get display off the second pcie slot (per my assumption) either with my 680 or 430 although the system continues to boot up normally
When GTX 680 installed in 1st pcie slot and GT 430 in second pcie slot then the only way I can get display for either Mac or Windows is throught the 1st Pcie slot irrespective of which card is in the 1st slot, 680/430.
Also my monitor has only one yes only one display port , I have to put my GT 430 in first slot and then boot into mac or pc for a proper display and everything works fine but now the 680 sits idle in the second pcie slot.
Both the drivers are showing & working correctly in Device Manager. Also the scenario is same in using Pcie2 and pcie3 slot (4x) is still the same, i.e. slot 2 is given preference in booting and slot 3 doesnt render display although machine goes on to boot just fine.
Now I have to options either wait for working gtx 680 driver for mac or find a way to simply switch between the displays for the respective OS'es.
Is there a way where I can use 430 as dedicated physx and 680 for graphics? Im gonna try that now though, although I must say here that the 430 will be in primary slot and 680 in the secondary slot in order for mac to work off the 430. Its just that I need to use the graphics of 680 as well, I dont know if that is possible or how noobish that sounds but i'd like to get ideas and advise from you guys. Hope Im clearing any confusions
Your able advise in this regards is truly & highy appreciated
