Hello amigos, I currently own a creative inspire 4.1 speaker set mated to my msi p45 mobos onboard audio.Recently it's converted to 2.1 as one if the speakers connector gone kaput.
Will upgrade the speakers very soon before that I have many questions.my usage is for 33% audio,33% movies & 33% gaming.so need an all rounder
1.Just buying a premium 2.1 speakers will do the job?
2.buy a good sound card & mends the current speakers to increase the sound quality.
Budget is around 7~8 k.
TIA:-) rs very soon before that I have many questions.my usage is for 33% audio,33% movies & 33% gaming.so need an all rounder

Buying a premium speaker setup makes more sense. You can add the sound card later if you are running tight on budget. There are a couple of options from creative, logitech altec lansing or edifier.

Creative Gigaworks T20 Series II (2.0) stereo Speaker

Logitech Z-2300 2.1 Speakers (if you can find old stock anywhere)

Logitech Z-623 2.1 Speakers

Altec Lansing MX6021 Expressionist ULTRA 2.1

Edifier C3 Multimedia Speaker

Edifier S530 Multimedia Speaker

There is no meaning to spend on sound card for the creative speakers of which 2 satellites are not working. So First of all get urself a very gud stereo speaker that is 2.0 or 2.1. Out of the speakers suggested by the above, Edifier S530>Edifier C3. I'll vouch for only these 2 speakers.

I am not an audiophile and so my knowledge is limited. Having said that the logitech z623 is a 200W (RMS) speaker set compared to 46watts for the edifier. Also it is THX certified. Is the difference not a bit too much ? Also the pristine quality of audio difference which most sound experts claim from practical testing I have realized that is something audible to only a select few of such audiophiles.

In short unless there is something really magical about the edifiers I would be tending towards the logitechs.

Hi, Yes Logitech Z623 is 200W RMS and Edifier is 46Watts but I don't think so that any PC user is gonna crank up the volume this much right sitting in front of the PC. 46 Watts RMS is not less by any means . Also THX certification is not at all important to me when it comes to "Multimedia Speakers". Also I strongly think that user should audition the speaker himself until he knows that what kinda sound signature he has in his mind and is luking for in a particular stereo speaker.

If the OP can increase his budget a bit so he can buy AudioEngine A2.

The MX5021 is only 90w and that was loud enough to fill up a 10m x 10m hall. And, I've read people prefering the S530 to even the Z2300.
