Recently my XBox360 went RROD therefore got it replaced from microsoft/redington. However the the replaced console is of 16.5V instead of my previous 14V. So aint I getting the older version of Xbox which is more prone to failures. However, the manufacturing date printed is of June 2010.

Did anybody had the same experience? would like to invite advices ?

Thanks

16.5V is a Zephyr chipset and it definitely wasn't manufactured in June 2010. The one that you had before seems like a Falcon chispet. Microsoft usually hands out refurbished consoles, so the don't go by the manufacturing date. When does your original console's warranty date end? Also what was the manufacturing date of your original console?

+1, check the warranty !

the newer consoles are sure less prone to rrod. so if your warranty is about to en d. contact MS and ask the same question !

BTW : have you checked your console ! . i mean the old consoles cant be used with new adapters! i am sure if it really is 16.5 it wont work!

My original console was bought around 3 yrs back. It was a gift so dont know the purchase date. I asked about the warranty from the MS guys. But they avoid telling the exact date, stating that warranty is applicable from date of purchase. Is there a way to check warranty online ?

The new console is working with the previous adapter.
