People,

My friend works in Automobile 3D modeling. He owns a Sony PC 8 years old. :crutch:

The PC hangs all the time nowadays, apparently a lot has changed in Technology... :)

But he is on very tight budget, but needs to use the system for modeling at home.

Tight budget: 10k - 15k Rupees :blushing:

Please suggest Mobo, CPU and RAM at as lowest cost possible.

I think AMD only possible, glad if can make it intel. :jumpy: :)

Thanks in advance.....

That Budget is really tight.
Do you want to completely upgrade your entire system right from your cabinet to your mouse, or just change your Core components?

I dont think 8 year old PC's PSU/SMPS(Power Supply) will power ur newer rig. As u have a very tight budget i would suggest DDRII.

AMD AthlonII X4 635 ~ 5k(Go for a quad as it would serve u for longer and more the cores the merrier for ur purpose)
Biostar A780L ~ 2.6k/Biostar A785GE~3.3k (There was even one 3 month old A785GE on sale in TE for ~3k shipped)
Kingston 4GB(2*2) 800MHz DDRII RAM ~ 4.4k
FSP SAGAII 350w ~ 1.5k/FSP SAGAII 400w ~ 1.9k
Total: 13.5k/14.6k

Add a decent GFX later when u have the budget.

well the lowest possible could be

athlon II x4 620 + biostar a780l @ 6k

4gb ram (get used one from members market) @ 3k

case + psu (iball) @ 1k

tatol 10k :)

if it is autocad , then you can get away with a el cheapo gfx card , CATIA then you would need some powered up one , all depends on what he is working on
