Hi
Guys I need advice for buying a netbook or laptop. I don't wanna buy a desktop pc due to space issue. Had been using Toshiba R600 portege until I broke the screen. I have NAS, and main use is to copy dvds and organise my phone backup on it. Nothing more than that. Will use external dvd rom drive incase the drive is missing. Those of you who have used netbook or atom laptop can guide me if they are worth the low price offered or should I go for a full fledged laptop. I won't mind 10inches to 15inches but advice on that too will surely help. Have used 12inch but enjoy my 17inch office lcd more eye friendly for sure.
Friends looking forward to your personal experience and advice on this.
Thanks.
Atul

The advantages that Netbooks offer are :
Portability -
Less Weight
Smaller Size
Higher battery Life

But they are pretty slow and take much more time in doing everyday tasks like rendering >4-tabs(FF/Chrome), booting, opening/editing Office documents etc....

Apart from that a few Atom based netbooks have some kind of an upper limit on the amount of memory they come with.

I would recommend you to go for an AMD-Brazo based netbook with 11.9-13'' Screen. It will have a better than average battery life but will be much more powerful than an Intel Atom based configuration.

You'll have to get an external DvD Drive with a netbook.

I would suggest this Model : Samsung NP305U1A-A06IN Laptop (Upgrade the Ram to 4GB and OS to Win8 Pro)

13'' and above laptops are a bit bulky and heavy. But offer a better computing experience so choose accordingly.

^ Thanks for the reply.

The battery or size isn't the issue. But surely got your point, amd is a better bet than those atoms.

Can someone update on dual core availability and future support compared to icore. If I m not wrong a low end i3 shouldn't cost more than 30k.

Also I m in no hurry if anything new expected soon.

Guys, kindly help.

How is samsung series 7 slate, is it equally portable in terms of weight and usability as a tab and worth the price. Though I m more inclined towards a regular laptop.

Hi atul, i prefer to you buy one LENOVO laptop, which is very good in market.
- Speedy Performance
- Nice loving models
- Reasonable Cost
- Good Configuration with Offer price.
- Easily Carry Not heavily.

Thanks for your reply, could you suggest some models in lenovo that you would recommend.
