Laptops Advise about the config im planning to buy. (Dell vostro 1500)

Hey everyone, im a new member here. So Anyways heres my query:
i need a new laptop for everyday use, none or hardly any gaming. So dont need to high specs. But after reviewing the prices here in india and us, iv decided il call for the laptop from usa, as its much cheaper. As of now iv selected the dell vostro 1500. Its costing me about 27.5k and personally i dont feel i can get a better deal than this. The config of laptop is as follows:

Intel Core 2 Duo T5470 (1.6GHz, 2MB L2 Cache, 800MHz FSB), Vista Basic, 15.4″ Wide Screen XGA LCD Display with TrueLife, 1GB SDRAM, 120G 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive, 8X CD/DVD Burner w/ double-layer DVD+R write capability, w/ Roxio Creator, 128MB NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS, 802.11g Wi-Fi Mini Card, 56 WHr 6-cell Lithium Ion Primary Battery, 1 Year Limited Hardware Warranty with Mail-in Service.+ 2 mp webcam.

So just wanted to know if i should make any changes or would this suffice? i want a notebook which does not get outdated in the next 1-2 years and at the same time i would like to save on as much money as possible. Need to buy a new phone aswell so the budgets tight, but dont mind spending a little more aswell. So just let me know wat you guys think. Thanks a lot people.!! :hap2:

hey ajo.. no mate u cant order from india, u have 2 take delivery in usa. An y is it expensiv: a hungry govt, even more hungry business men (dell india). hehe..

Anyways i guess no1's got any comments/ suggestions to improve on it or somethin.
 
nice 1, add creative ep-63o earbuds to the config for 0$ extra :-)...and if upgrade to ultrasharp+truelife WSXGA monitor...total shud still be less than 32-33k.

hey buddy thanks for your advice, tell me how do u add the free creative ep-630 headphones. ?? i looked but couldnt find it and also is the screen upgrade worthwile and worth the extra 5k's? cause i have a dell inspiron 1505 right now and am really happy with the normal truelife screen, so if u think it makes much of a diff i might consider including it. !! reply asap as have 2 tell my sis the final config in a couple of days to order. :cool2:
 
I think i can make a trip to US and get it there.... 27K is damn cheap man... :)

Wish i had a friend/ cousin in U.S..!! :(
 
I really dont think the uxga helps much until unless ur doin some hd movie editing,watchin/photoshop / or software that uses a lot of on screen controls such fruity loops or somethin nyway 1280x800 works pretty well for everyday use.also ask ur frnd to get u a pair of 2gig ram ,that'l cost u arnd $100~110. also opt for a 9cell battery it gives much more time than a standard i think another $50 4 tat!
 
27.5k for intel 5470 with 120gb lappy 1 gb ram 15 inch screen.......also warranty and gfx card..its more than fishy.......

it can only be true when deill is giving donation...

on the first place its more than fishy deal...u cant get the same for 35k even in us

i know its a great deal, and its started making me wonder about the logic of buying a desktop (other than for gaming) any longer.. :bleh:

haha.. well frankly im looking for all the oppurtunities of relatives coming from us myself, 3 of my friends also want the same notebook, so including my uncle for whom i originally researched and configured it there r 4 people already, an my sis is coming alone so she can only get 1 laptop(plus her old existing laptop). sorry mate.. im overbooked myself an remmembering all relatives in us whom i had forgotten ages ago.. :P
 
lol it was a joke......telling this becoz i m ruled out..lolz...

but really..get the piece and same config i was trying to get here.....with 9 battery and gfx card update..and it will cost 55k here...u again placed me in confusion....
