AFOX reveals GT 530 graphics card | hw-lab.com

Nvidia continues the expansion of 500-series card based on either new GPUs (GF116) or significantly improved old ones (GF110). We have already seen that new gen. GPUs marking differ from old ones by “1″number – GF100 vs. GF110 (GTX480 vs. GT 580) which is true for all 500-lineup currently available.

Things change with the forthcoming of GT 530 as this card is based on GF116 unlike its predecessor GT 430 which is based on GF108. The main performance config(CUDA cores, ROPs. TMUs, etc) are yet to be revealed, however, the we can already take a look at clock rates, memory specs, display support and cooling solution provided by AFOX GT 530 graphic card.

As you see, GT 530 has faster GPU and memory, while keeping about the same TDP level as GT 430 – no additional power connectors are required. The card uses full-size PCB with massive cooler covering good half of it. The card lacks SLI headers, so no multi-card setups are possible. Just like GT 430, GT 530 will be equipped with 1GB or 2GB of DDR3 memory.

We are not sure if those clocks are default ones for GT 530, as GF116-based cards have great overclocking potential. Therefore, this card can be considered as great choice for HTPC systems, both compact and powerful. Price wise, we believe i should stay in under-$100 segment. The launch date and availability info is not disclosed.

The AMD HD 5670 chewed up the nVidia GT 430 which was all smoke and mirrors by nVidia to create a so called HTPC card, now like the GTS 550 Ti nVidia will realize there is more to the VFM segment than just providing a card which can decode HD content seamlessly. GT 530 = epic PHAIL

Haha you got that totally right. They think they can use a half sized chip, up the clocks and sell at higher prices and expect the product to actually sell. nVidia, lol they got GTX570's mild success to their head.

Look what happened to GTX590 haha
