Yes, its TRUE, there is AGP 8x version of 7600GS Graphics card.

When I saw these cards, even I was :S :O

Then I start looking at the SLOT PINS, then the extra POWER Connector (not usual in 7600GS PCIe edition unless it XXX edition) and atlast NO SLI and then the Specification. Then it must be AGP :cool2:

AGP was the old interface for graphic cards ... pci-x is the new interface and much faster ... there will be a pci-x version 2 soon

itdepot had a posting for a 7600GS AGP sometime ago. Never inquired about it though. I think the performance of the 7600 AGP is some 25-50% more than the 6800GT. Have to confirm this though as I read the review a long time ago.

Ill take a 6800GT instead of 7600gs performance wise..

and PCI-x != PCI Express
both are different..
PCI Express is used in graphic cards these days.

Actually the difference between a 7600 GS PCI-E and a 7600 GS AGP will be barely 5 - 10 % faster. PCI-E makes very little difference. It is just that since most cards are for PCI-E nowadays, AGP cards are expensive and hard to get.

Also a 7600 GS is about the same speed as a Geforce 6600 GT albeit a bit faster in some games and now with newer games comming, the difference is growing. But the Geforce 6800 GT is still faster than the 7600 GS. The 7600 GT however is faster than the 6800 GT in almost everything.
