I thought of buying this because of the size and features it flaunts. Disappointed with the price tag, 30k is Reasonable launch price for this phone.
At the end of this month they could have sold it for 25k odd.

HTC going to post his first 3 month lost in their history... This phone price is clear example of why.. 1 GB ram phone for 37k...that's stupid price.... I really wish HTC somehow got bankrupt...

The Price should come down to 25k, the launch price should have been 30k. I cannot afford a 40k phone, so i can't get a brother of his at 25k? :banhappy:
F**K YOU HTC!

Companies who know they are in loss should ideally bank on volumes to sell their Devices rather than pricing them atrociously.
You do price more if you know people will still buy them (in volumes) like Samsung but HTC is probably in no position to do this.

HTC is expanding its Service Centers and Stores across India, Welcome move but Pricing has been an issue from the past 8-10 months.

Pricing is high because HTC can't produce enough volume. butterfly s has a MRP of 60k o_O

Then I seriously expect them to go bankrupt and extinct.
If it happens they will get bought by some chinese company. There is some time still.[DOUBLEPOST=1381077866][/DOUBLEPOST]
Was it the Same thing with Note3 Pricing? It dropped to 40k in 20 days from launch o_O
And how many offer note 3 at that price ? One guy on snapdeal.

This means note3 has fallen to 40k in 20 days ?

Sometimes I feel Samsung is deliberately launching their phones at very price and then reduce them quickly to give a perception to customers that they are getting phone for less price (since launch price was high).

Ebay price is 44k too.. So soon everyone might lower price..

Prices will decrease if companies wanna sell their phones or they will lose their customers to others. Also the incremental upgrades are not that great these days that want to make people really wanna upgrade. For nearly 95% of the stuff I do, I am more than happy with my dual core Galaxy Nexus.
The launch price of the Note 2(39k) was my upper limit. Apart from Apple I wouldn't spend that much on a mobile phone. Reason being Apple never decrease the pricing of the iPhone drastically and hence you don't lose a lot of money. For example one can still get 30-32k for an iPhone 5 they bought last year in November. On the other hand you would be lucky to get 20-21k for a Note 2 bought on the same day.
The only way not to lose lot of money if you wanna stick to Android is to buy when the prices have stabilized and then change phones every 3 months or so.
I remember mentioning the same in another discussion thread before. I bought the Note 2 for 38k on launch day last year and since then I have tried nearly every flagship phone and tablet and only lost 11k in value.

That was a popular model. Still hear people rave about it.

How much was the iphone 5 selling for at launch ?

Drive a car out of the showroom and its lost half its value.

What about the value the phone provides while you use it. If you van get more than 20k of value through use after a year then you're ahead. If you cannot get that then a cheaper phone would have been better suited to your needs.

It is still really smooth and great for everyday use apart from gaming. Plus being a nexus device it will keep getting updates, if not from Google then from the developers.

At launch day one of my friends got it for 45k. At the time of the Note 2 launch I was getting the iPhone for 41.5k through someone I knew.

I see it a bit differently as one's usage changes over time. I used to be an avid mobile gamer when I had just bought the Note 2 but over time I stopped gaming. At that point for me the value of the Note 2(31k - my selling price ) was same as that of the Galaxy Nexus I bought (8k for a CDMA model from US). I have stuck with the Nexus since then and for me it has been the most VFM device I have ever owned. The rest of the money I have been using to try out tablets and GSM flagship phones from US on which I lose money very rarely.

I think mini versions of flagships are not worth it, they just bank upon the name and skip the features which just make it a mid end device which is certainly not worth it.

If they do like keep all the internals of htc one and just reduce the screen size to make it more portable then only it makes sense but that's not the case anywhere. I would say wait for nexus 5 or get nexus 4 if your budget is limited to 25k.

Yeah, they're like crippled versions of the original.
