Air India Ahmedabad-London flight Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner crashes near airport in Ahmedabad

DGCA has asked Air India for the training records of the pilots and dispatcher for the plane that crashed last week as part of its investigation.

More here: India regulator asks Air India for training data of pilots, dispatcher of crashed plane

Also, this is from The Aviation Herald's new post:

"On Jun 17th 2025 an official, a former Air India Captain trained by the Captain of the accident flight, stated, that the CVR has been successfully read out, the voices on the CVR are very clear. It is becoming gradually clear from the newly emerging evidence that there was probably zero negligence in the cockpit, the crew did not give up until the very last moment. The probability of a technical cause is high. A preliminary report by India's AAIB can be expected in a few days".

if you would listen to other CVR recordings, all seem rosy as heck, its what FDR reveals will be the killer, this is just a fluff piece, obviously I'm hoping its not the pilots fault, but its too soon to form an opinion, and btw, 787 doesnt have traditional CVR/FDR, it has instead whats called a EFAR, which is a combo of both fdr and cvr, 787 has two of them for redundancy,

This is an interesting news piece. https://aviationa2z.com/index.php/2...eing-787-flights-today-despite-safety-checks/

Not directly related, but multiple cancellations by AI of its Dreamliner flights could also be a signal that it had either been ignoring some checks / tolerating certain (probably minor) risks in the past, where controls have suddenly been enforced, or maybe everyone is super-paranoid right now. That said, it should not be a surprise if for-profit corporations get complacent over time and react to tighten their belts in response to crashes. I see that same "corrective" behavior happening in banking systems every once in a while, whenever a large bank/institution fails.

It is unlikely that this captain has heard the CVR unless he is part of the AAIB, so seems more like a second hand account.

Last minute switching of planes, non-functioning entertainment systems, clogged toilets are par for the course for AI Dreamliners, if you have flown in any of them over the past few years.

It will take years until the government era ones are completely replaced, so it seems the recent incidents are on account of what just happened, not because there is suddenly something wrong with all the Dreamliners.

I'm still wondering about that dude who survived. He says he was pulled out of the wreckage and helped reach ambulance. Video shows he's coming out of the smoke and walking towards the ambulance all by himself.

His entire walk back away from the burning wreckage is undoubtedly doused in mystery for me as well. The fact that he landed stupendously HARD on the ground floor of the hostel, lost and then quickly gained consciousness, unfastened his seat-belt, saw the air hostesses sitting in front of him dead and then ran out through the large gaping hole that was once the emergency door next to his seat just seconds before the fuselage became a fireball is... Final Destination movie level stuff!!
