Air India loses 5400cr this year. Govt clueless on turnaround.
Probably the worst managed airline in the whole world. Goes on to show how messed-up govt-owned products can be. They aren't just hurting the economy but also the livelihood of thousands of their staff workers. Why dont they just semi-privatize this airline already? The last time i travelled on Air India flight was nothing less than a nightmare. I ain't taking it again.
 
A 787 Dreamliner costs 19232985000.00 Rupees. (1923 crores).
Air India owns 8 of them.
All we need to do is to sell 3 of them, and we are even.

air india is costlier than the rest. i use it for impromptu travel, as i can always get a seat (nobody, except babus travel on AI :p) but their food tastes much better than other fancy airlines.
 
It will be bailed out again at the tax payer's expense!

Vested interests (unions, babus, ministers) won't let it shut down!
 
Travelled once in Air India to Shanghai, only reason was they had a tie up with my company for some additional 10 Kg allowance and it was only direct flight from India.
Given a choice, I won't prefer.
